Teenager / Student Health Patient UK has information leaflets on a wide range of conditions and an extensive directory of patient support and self help groups. In addition, our extensive web directory lists many other sites which provide information and support on specific conditions. Are you 13-19? connexions direct can offer you information and advice to help you make the decisions and choices in your life. Includes sectiions such as health, careers, rights, etc.

Patient apple icon (PatientApple.gif) Mind Body and Soul

Aims to give young people aged 14-16, the lowdown on health in a fun and interesting way. Mind, Body & Soul is not designed to tell you how to live your life, but will give you accurate and up-to-date information about health so that you can make your own choices. It also contains material that you will help with schoolwork. NICE is overseeing the development of the site.

A website which gives young people aged 11-14 facts about health in a fun and interesting way. It includes sections on: different health topics, some health conditions and healthy schools. LifeBytes won't tell you what to do but will give you the information to help you make your own choices about health. It can also help with schoolwork and projects. NICE is overseeing the development of the site.

Patient apple icon (PatientApple.gif) Doctor Ann's Virtual Surgery

Teenager health site written by by two doctors - Dr Ann McPherson and Dr Aidan Macfarlane. Ann is a General Practitioner and Aidan is a Paediatrician. Both of them have specialised in looking after the health of young people for many years. Lots of topics covered.

BirdsBeesandTeens is aimed at introducing young people and teenagers to the best health related sites aimed at the younger person. It covers a range of diagnoses from acne to drugs to sexual health to diabetes. This site is run by Dr J Robertson who has over 15 years paediatric experience, and checks all the links in this site every six months.

Comprehensive health and illness advice relevent to students. Also includes links to all UK university health practice websites for information about local student health services. Written and regularly updated by doctors from the Sussex University Health Centre.

Provides information on diet, activity and health and is aimed at teenagers 11-19 years. This site is mananged by Registered Dietitians on behalf of the BritishDietetic Association and is funded by DoH.

Directgov is the place to turn to for the latest and widest range of public service information. Includes a section for young people.

Scottish Youth Information for 12-26 year olds. Includes information about health issues.

Straight-talking advice from a UK doctor on a number of problems such as spots, sexual problems, hairiness, breast problems, wind, bad breath, anal problems and other 'embarrassing' problems.

A site for young people, parents and carers with sections on children's rights, youth and crime, free play, bullying and education.

A professional organisation but see their extensive resources and publications list. Many topics covered and publications aimed at both parents and teenagers.
