About timolol with bendroflumethiazide

Type of medicine Antihypertensive
Used for Hypertension (high blood pressure)
Also called Prestim®
Available as Tablets

This is a combination medicine containing the beta-blocker timolol and the diuretic bendroflumethiazide. It is used to treat high blood pressure.

Timolol works by blocking the transmission of messages to the beta receptors in the heart, which slows down the activity of the heart and decreases blood pressure.

Bendroflumethiazide increases the amount of water passed into the urine resulting in a loss of fluid from the body. This also helps to lower blood pressure.

Tiredness, coldness of the extremities (fingers, toes and nose), disturbed sleep, or nightmares Speak with your doctor if you suffer from these side effects
Shortness of breath Speak with your doctor as soon as possible if you suffer from this side effect
