Speaking Up supports and empowers people with learning difficulties, disabilities and mental health problems to speak up for themselves.

Speaking Up provides advocacy services, self advocacy based projects and resources for people with learning difficulties, mental health issues and physical disabilities. Their mission is Voice – Action – Change.

Voice

They enable people who experience learning difficulties, mental health issues or other disabilities to find their voice and shape their own lives.

Action

They create positive choices for disabled people, by helping organizations to understand their needs and representing their views or supporting them to speak up for themselves.

Change

They lead society towards recognizing disabled people as equal and valued citizens with the same choices and opportunities as everyone else.

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.
