The Patient Information Centre's Mission Statement says:

"The Patient Information Centre aims to provide a central point of access to appropriate information about health and related services, leading to increased understanding which will help people feel in control of their own health and treatments."

The services offered by the centre are available to everyone, not only to patients. People may have questions about a particular health issue or need to find the name of a support group. Whatever the question the Centre is here to help. Health staff are also able to access the centre.

The Patient Information Centre aims to provide a central point of access to appropriate information about health and related services, leading to increased understanding which will help people to feel in control of their own health and treatments.

The Centre has a number of self help guides which may be downloaded from www.ntw.nhs.uk/pic/?p=selfhelp for personal use. The guides have been written by clinical psychologists with contributions from service users and healthcare staff from Northumberland.
