Cystic Fibrosis

by Chris Dawson

Oh here we go once again
They tip me upside down
And pat and poke me till I cough
And spit and almost drown
But hey it's not so often now
That we've got our new routine
It's the slickest operation
That this condition's ever seen
I have got my diet plan you see
My inhaler and my pills
Supplements and medicines
To sort out other ills
I do everything the Doctors
And Nurses say I ought
But best of all I like the bit
That involves me doing sport
So I'm outdoors most often
Throwing mud and climbing trees
Swimming and playing football
(after I've washed my knees)
But when things aren't quite so good
And it's nebuliser time
I like to write some poetry
And that just suits me fine!

PS - Health and Poverty

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.

See also MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY North East for details and links to campaigns against poverty.
