There are over 70 contact volunteers for the Colostomy Association. These are people who are dedicated to helping colostomates (people with a colostomy) and their families. They are there to:

  • Attend open/information days, coffee mornings and roadshows.
  • Be at the end of the phone.
  • Visit people at hospital.
  • Visit people at home.
  • Write articles for other professional magazines.
  • Where needed, set up and manage support groups.
  • Update their training.
  • Raise money where possible for the Colostomy Association.

They also produce a quarterly magazine 'Tidings' which is circulated to their 18,000 members.
