The Association of Children’s Hospices (ACH) is a registered charity which brings together over 40 voluntary sector children’s hospice services throughout the UK dedicated to the care of children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their families.

ACH is the national voice representing children’s hospice services in the UK, and through them the life-limited children and their families who use them. The charity works together with other organisations to support the development of best practice and provision of children’s hospice services across the UK. All ACH’s activities are shaped by a philosophy which keeps the life-limited children and their families at the heart of their work.

ACH offers a wide range of support and information for care professionals and other practitioners working in the field of children’s palliative care.

The support includes the Palliative Care Forum (PCF), its tri-annual journal ‘Linchpin’ and an annual two day PCF conference.

There is also a wealth of literature relating to children’s palliative care and children’s hospice services which can be accessed through their website.

PS - Health and Poverty

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.

See also MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY North East for details and links to campaigns against poverty.
