  • Connecting policy - development of coherent family policy.
  • Connecting people - academics, policymakers and professionals working with families - to share knowledge and ideas.

The Family and Parenting Institute is a first port of call for people working with families:

  • Advice and support for schools, children's centres, family and healthcare services.
  • Consultancy service - specializing in research, strategic planning, complaints, enquiries and bespoke training.
  • Research and information exchange - Parents' Week, events, publications and online Family Policy Digest.

PS - Health and Poverty

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.

See also MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY North East for details and links to campaigns against poverty.
