AMEND (Association for Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Disorders) tries to offer a listening ear and a better understanding to those whose lives are affected by Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia (MEN) Types 1 and 2 and their sporadic growths..

AMEND is happy to share information which has been collected about the disease, or just be a listening ear. The aims of the Association are to improve the well-being of all those persons suffering from these conditions by:

  • Providing information in the form of leaflets and medical journal extracts.
  • Providing both emotional and practical support.
  • Promoting the earlier diagnosis of MEN 1 & 2 by raising awareness of the condition among relevant health professionals.
  • Increasing awareness and understanding of all aspects of the condition and keeping abreast of advances in knowledge brought about by research programmes.
  • Providing funding for future research programmes.

Further details can be found on their website.

PS - Health and Poverty

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.

See also MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY North East for details and links to campaigns against poverty.
