Accessible Travel and Leisure (ATL) can provide a range of holiday options to those who seek accessibility as a basic requirement. They offer a range of accessible holidays for wheelchair users, the sensory impaired, slow walkers, mature travellers, their families and friends. They can arrange accessible accommodations, transport, special equipment, and other related services.

They have a variety of resorts they can recommend from Cuba to Cairo, Mallorca to Melbourne, Venice to Vancouver. Most of the destinations feature 'mainstream' hotels and apartments, where they have identified and inspected accessible rooms and amenities. For those in need of a more care-orientated environment, they offer a selected range of specifically adapted accommodations with such facilities as pool hoists, shower chairs, and care services.

They have a website detailing the various destinations and also information on how to book. They also offer a free newsletter.

PS - Health and Poverty

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.

See also MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY North East for details and links to campaigns against poverty.
