The National Heart Forum (NHF) is a leading alliance of over 50 national organisations representing the health services, professional bodies, consumer groups and voluntary organisations. The NHF's mission is to work with and through its members to contribute to the prevention of avoidable coronary heart disease and related conditions in the UK.

The NHF has adopted the following functions in order to deliver its mission:

  • To provide a forum in which members:
    • exchange information and ideas, and co-ordinate activities.
    • develop policy based on evidence and the need for action.
  • To collectively stimulate and advocate effective action nationally and internationally through information, education, policy research and development.
  • To facilitate working relationships between members and policy-makers, and to strengthen and develop public health capacity.
