Newborn Hearing Screening Programme - NHSP

Web: www.nhsp.info

It's very important to identify children with hearing loss as early in life as possible, and the NHS Newborn Hearing Screening Programme (NHSP) aims to make sure that all newborn babies are given this opportunity across the whole of England.

Their website has sections that include:

  • Why screen babies' hearing and what does it involve?
  • When and where will my baby be screened?
  • Why does my baby need a second test and what does it involve?
  • What happens after the screen?
  • Other questions parents commonly ask

PS - Health and Poverty

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.

See also MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY North East for details and links to campaigns against poverty.
