Broadreach House is a charity based on the outskirts of Plymouth. Clients, from anywhere in the UK, are treated both on a private and state-funded basis (Health and Local Authorities). The charity operates the following five facilities.
- Broadreach, first stage treatment of alcohol and drug dependency for men and women.
- Closereach, second stage treatment for men.
- Longreach, first and second stage treatment for women.
- Broadreach Day Service, including resettlement and aftercare.
- Training, including one year diploma course in addiction counselling.
The programme employs research-supported interventions for alcohol and drug misusers. Length of treatment varies between two weeks and six months, depending on individual needs. They receive a mixture of group and family therapy, workshops, lectures, one-to-one counselling and activity-based work. A life and social skills programme is also followed including workshops, relaxation training and other activities.
The charity produces comprehensive information for prospective clients, referrers and relatives and friends. Alternatively, visit the website for more details.
