Commissioned by the Central Office of Information and funded by the Department of Health, this phoneline, and the Smokefree website, offers free information, advice and support to people who are giving up smoking, and those who have given up smoking and do not want to start again. The service is also designed to support their friends and families, as well as health specialists. Callers can obtain a range of appropriate information leaflets, ask about 'stopping smoking' services in their local area, or seek help and advice from specialist advisers.
