Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) or 'white finger' is a widespread hazard, with over one million UK workers exposed to vibration over the Health and Safety Executive's action limit. HAVS is the most common disease assessed by the DSS and is the most common disease reported under the reporting of injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrence, regulations (RIDDOR).
The website gives information on the condition and its assessment. It is run by HAVS Screening Limited, who can provide a medico-legal assessment on behalf of solicitors and insurance companies and a screening service for companies to assess this condition. HAVS Screening’s aim is to provide medico-legal and health surveillance reports for vibration exposed individuals, in any industry.
