The Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities works with people with learning disabilities, their families and professionals to do research, policy development, training and service and organizational development. They aim to enable people with learning disabilities to decide where they want to live and work, what they do with their time and who they want to be with.

Their work includes:-

  • Research into policies and services, and how they work for people with learning disabilities.
  • Development support and staff training and consultancy for all organisations and communities involved with people who have learning disabilities.
  • Practical projects: This includes a project "Life in the Community" to support people with complex needs to enjoy a range of opportunities in their locality.
