World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF UK) supports research into the role of diet and nutrition in the prevention of cancer. It also offers a wide range of cancer prevention education programmes and publications for health professionals, schools and the public. Through these pioneering efforts, WCRF UK has helped focus attention on the link between cancer and the choices made about food, drink, physical activity and bodyweight.
WCRF UK vision is to prevent cancer in the UK and worldwide and their mission is to raise awareness that the risk of cancer is reduced by healthy food and nutrition, physical activity and weight management.
Their work involves:
- Encouraging people to choose and enjoy healthy diets and lifestyles.
- Informing health professionals about prevention of cancer by means of healthy diets.
- Supporting innovative scientific research into the relationships between food, nutrition and cancer.
