Deafax works to empower deaf people of all ages to lead fulfilling lives through the use of innovative technologies.

Founded in 1985, Deafax is a charitable company with a national remit and strong international links. It pioneers the innovative use of educational, research and training projects involving technology for deaf people of all ages, teachers, employers and health professionals.

Their training and resources cover a wide range of topics and their visual, interactive approach is a consistent theme throughout. They are consistently examining new and emerging technologies to see how they can provide modern solutions to age-old problems to help deaf people.

They believe in deaf/hearing partnerships and actively demonstrate this through their staff teams. All Deafax programmes involve representatives of the deaf community. The Honorary President of Deafax is Dr Vinton Cerf, who is widely recognised as the 'Architect of the Internet'.
