The British Disabled Water Ski Association's aim is to introduce newcomers to the sport who, due to their disability, would not have considered the challenge possible. The Association has fully qualified instructors giving expert guidance and assistance to help people take to the water and learn to ski, whatever their disability. People with the following types of disability or conditions have successfully water-skied with the Association: amputees, blind, deaf, sufferers of partial paralysis, wheelchair users, people with multiple sclerosis and those with learning difficulties. There are five geographic regions: Contact the Association for details of a contact in your locality.

PS - Health and Poverty

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.

See also MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY North East for details and links to campaigns against poverty.
