Help the Aged is an international charity dedicated to creating a world where older people can live their lives free from poverty, isolation and neglect.

It operates advice lines, publishes information and guidance, and runs a nationwide network of charity shops.

SeniorLine is Help the Aged's free advice and information telephone line for older people, their relatives, carers and friends. SeniorLine provides free, impartial and confidential advice on welfare, benefits, care, housing or any other issue of importance to older people.

Home Support is a package of services including Handyvan (Security), SeniorLine (information and advice), Senior-Link (emergency response service) and other community support services. Home Support aims to support older people to live independently in their own homes.

Help the Aged also produces a range of information and advice leaflets, including topics such as healthy eating, available for download from their website or by placing an order with the information team.

Help the Aged does not offer any direct medical services.

PS - Health and Poverty

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.

See also MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY North East for details and links to campaigns against poverty.
