For over twenty years, Survivors UK have been providing information, support and counselling for men who have been raped or sexually abused. Thousands of men contact them each year.
Survivors UK have a range of support options to help you recover from your experience and put the past behind you:
- Someone to talk to, through their National Helpline which is staffed by trained volunteers. It is confidential, anonymous and often the first port of call for those seeking help.
- Face-to-face counselling in London. They can provide information throughout the rest of the country via their links with other Survivor Agencies and their network of approved specialist counsellors.
- Support Groups, a chance to meet and talk to people who have been through similar experiences to you. The experience of discovering that you are not alone is often a huge step along the path to recovery.
Another aim of Survivors UK is to increase public awareness of both the prevalence and effect of the sexual abuse and rape on boys and men. Their website includes a wealth of useful information and links, recommended reading, a research area and news and media centre.
Survivors UK also offer training courses, sharing their expertise with other service providers in the charity, care and health sector industries.
