The Foreign and Commonwealth Office Travel Advice is designed to help British travellers avoid trouble by providing succinct and up-to-date information on threats to personal safety arising from political unrest, lawlessness, violence, natural disasters, epidemics, anti-British demonstrations and aircraft safety. The public can obtain 'Travel Advice Notices' by telephoning or faxing the above numbers or writing to the above address. The full range of Notices is also available on the above website.

Other Consular Services' information leaflets including Checklist for Travellers, Backpackers & Independent Travellers and British Consular Services Abroad are widely distributed through travel agents, airlines, airports, public libraries and Citizens Advice Bureaux.
