The Crisis Recovery Unit is a national unit for individuals who repeatedly harm themselves and engage in difficult relationships.

The unit aims to help individuals to seek alternatives to self harming, to gain a greater understanding of the meaning that self harm has for them and to tolerate distressing feelings.

The service has been designed to deal with patients that other services have found difficult to help and who make frequent use of emergency services or multiple care agencies; offering a six month care package.

Before admission, patients are given a 1/2 day assessment for suitability by two members of the Multidisciplinary Team.
