WATCh's Mission Statement:

  • WATCh? is committed to raising awareness and understanding of the emotional needs of children under three years old and to supporting parents to meet these needs.
  • WATCh? believes that the needs of children are paramount
  • The relationship between each child and his/her main carer should be loving, consistent, permanent and stable. Ideally this main relationship should be with the mother.
  • Children will have other relationships, which are important to their growth and development, but these should be complementary to and not in competition with the main carer
The aims of WATCh are:
  • To raise awareness of the emotional needs of children especially during the crucial first three years of psychological dependence.
  • To encourage society to value the work of mothers.
  • To emphasis the importance of the father's role in ensuring security and happiness within the family unit.
  • To press for society's acceptance of the need to support families thereby ensuring psycho-social health throughout the entire community.

PS - Health and Poverty

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.

See also MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY North East for details and links to campaigns against poverty.
