Signpost is the specialist, tri-annual subscription journal produced by the Practice Development Unit (Mental Health Services for Older People) of Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust in association with the Dementia Services Development Centre Wales aimed at those working with and caring for people with dementia, older people with mental health problems, and the carers of these groups.

Signpost provides an inter-agency and multi-disciplinary communication network for health and social care professionals, direct care staff and family carers with the intention of supporting common aims and a shared vision of improving practice and quality within services. This is with the overall aim of enhancing the quality of care received by older people with mental health needs and thereby improving their quality of life.

As Signpost is a non-profit making venture, with all income supporting its continued production and local staff training, subscription rates are kept to a minimum.

Visit the site for further details or to arrange subscription.

PS - Health and Poverty

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.

See also MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY North East for details and links to campaigns against poverty.
