The Castle Craig Hospital provides in-patient treatment for alcohol and other drug dependency under medical management and direction. Treatment includes assessment, detoxification and intensive group and individual psychotherapy using the Minnesota/12 Step Approach and lasts for 4 - 6 weeks. A Psychiatrist is available. Further less intensive residential care is available if necessary in the Extended Care Unit.
The Hospital is located within a mansion situated in parkland. There is easy access to Edinburgh, its airport and nearby motorways. Castle Craig Hospital is a contractor to the NHS and recognised by medical insurers. Strong emphasis is placed on family support and aftercare. The Hospital has held ISO 9002 accreditation for all its medical, treatment and administrative procedures for the last four years and the Therapists are internationally accredited.
A free video and leaflet are available to prospective patients. Professional referral sources can be provided with more more detailed information and can attend open days held at monthly intervals. In certain circumstances the Hospital is able to provide a free assessment.
