Fitness Scotland aims to be regarded as the lead agency for the promotion of health related fitness in Scotland. The organisation aims to set new standards of excellence in education and training and to pioneer new initiatives. Fitness Scotland works with partners and develops collaborative working in order to achieve its aim of increased exercise participation. Key features of the organisation's activities are as follows.

  • Promotion of physical activity for adults and young people.
  • Contribution to a national strategy for the promotion of physical activity.
  • Working in partnership with Local Authorities, Universities and Colleges.
  • Serving membership by maintaining a register of fitness and exercise professionals and developing training programmes.
