ESPA Limited is a registered charity offering services to people from all over the UK. It has grown from its amalgamation with its sister charity CAP (Communities for Autistic People) which was established by parents in 1987. ESPA aims to provide the highest quality community-based care, further education and day services to meet the needs and develop the full potential of people with autism and Asperger's syndrome.

ESPA is an autism-specific organisation and has the services of a Consultant Psychiatrist, Consultant Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapists and a team of highly experienced and well-trained managers, Teachers and Support Workers.

The extensive range of settings within the organisation have all been designated to meet the requirements of the individual. These vary from Registered Care Homes and Colleges of Further Education with Halls of Residence to semi-independent one and two person flats and bungalows.

Services are located in Sunderland, Durham and Newcastle.

PS - Health and Poverty

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.

See also MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY North East for details and links to campaigns against poverty.
