The Listening Friends scheme offers confidential help to pharmacists who are under stress and to their immediate family. The Listening Friends are a group of volunteer pharmacists living throughout the country, specifically trained in listening skills. On calling the helpline, the caller's name and telephone number will be passed on to a Listening Friend who will then call back either that same evening or within 24 hours of the call. All information given remains confidential and nothing will be passed on to any other person or organisation. The service has no connection with any department of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. The service can help with any problems that may have or are having an effect on an individual's work, including the following:
- Professional problems
- Business worries
- Family problems
- Illness
- Bereavement
