The Peter Le Marchant Trust provides days and holidays on waterways to disabled and seriously ill people. Established in 1976, the Trust has three boats, details as follows.

  • Two 65' broadbeam canal boats based at Loughborough equipped with hydraulic lifts, telephones, resuscitation equipment, showers and toilets. 'Serenade' is used for short holidays with beds for 10 people, including helpers and 'Symphony' for day trips for 26 people, including helpers. A skipper is provided on each boat. Groups provide their own food and feed the skipper on 'Serenade'.
  • 5/8-berth narrowboat 'Melody', based near Loughborough. Available for hire to families or groups of friends with a disabled member. Contact the Trust for weekly hire charges.

All enquiries to the Trust Administrator on the above number. Passengers come from all over the country.
