The British Paralympic Association (BPA) is the organisation responsible for selecting, preparing, entering, funding and managing British teams which compete at the Paralympic Games and Paralympic Winter Games. These games are multi-sport international competitions for elite athletes with disabilities and, as such, are parallel to the Olympic Games and Olympic Winter Games. The BPA's aims include the following:

  • To create the best possible environment from which Britain's competitors can produce their lifetime's best performances at the Games.
  • To raise the competitive standards of Britain's paralympic teams through increased training opportunities as well as increased availability of trained staff and suitable facilities.

Activities of the BPA are wide-ranging and include games organisation, liaison with disability groups, and establishing training programmes. Contact the BPA on the number above for further information.

The Disability Sports Development Trust is a grant-making body with the aim of assisting with funding for sports event organisation and improvements to sports facilities, training and coaching courses, as well as National/International events.
