Values into Action (VIA) is a registered charity and UK-wide organisation working with and for people with learning difficulties. VIA is involved in the following:

  • Providing national and local government, the media, and other organisations with up-to-the-minute responses to the full range of issues affecting people with learning difficulties.
  • Promoting the rights of people with learning difficulties and publicising good practice.
  • Solely concerned with the rights and interests of people with learning difficulties.

VIA can offer the following:

  • An informed viewpoint from a unique perspective.
  • Publications.
  • Training events.
  • Conference speakers.
  • Information and advice on good practice.
  • A network of support.

VIA is not a provider of care services. VIA membership is open to everyone, with reduced subscription rates for people on low income.

PS - Health and Poverty

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.

See also MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY North East for details and links to campaigns against poverty.
