SAMH is a leading mental health charity in Scotland. SAMH works to support people who experience mental health problems, homelessness, addictions and other forms of social exclusion. SAMH provides an Information Service, which is open from Monday to Friday to people with mental health problems, their families and carers. MSPs, GPs and health professionals, members of the public, teachers and students also make use of their service. They provide information on all aspects of mental health for their callers.

Their information staff can refer cases where appropriate to their Legal Officer who offers free legal advice on Mental Health Law, Benefits enquiries are also welcome. Their Benefits Officer and the Benefits Advisor can take referrals, assist clients with their benefits applications and can arrange for representation for clients at tribunals.

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.
