Rathbone is a UK-wide voluntary youth sector organisation providing opportunities for young people to transform their life-circumstances by re-engaging with learning, discovering their ability to succeed and achieving progression to further education, training and employment. Rathbone believes that everyone, whatever their starting point in life, can make progress through learning.
Rathbone’s young people often face some of the greatest challenges in our society. Rathbone aims to recognise the potential in every individual young person that they work with and enable them to develop and achieve a plan for learning which is a real launch pad for a positive future.
Rathbone's work is focused on four key target groups and programmes:
- Youth Choices - a programme for young people aged 14-16 who are either wholly or partially excluded from school.
- Preparation for Life and Work - Entry to Employment (e2e) in England, Skill Build in Wales and Get Ready for Work in Scotland for young people aged 16-19 who are not yet ready for work or further study.
- Apprenticeships - for young people aged 16-24 who are ready to embark on training for work.
- Youth Engagement - outreach programmes for young people aged 14-19 who are not in education, training or employment and volunteering programmes.
At Rathbone they believe that to support their learners in the best way they need to support their parents as well. That is why they also have a team of people working on a Parenting project.
