PROSPECTS is a Christian voluntary organisation which values and supports people with learning disabilities so that they live their lives to the full. PROSPECTS enables people with learning disabilities to live ordinary lives and be accepted for their own sake in their local community or local church. PROSPECTS activities are as follows.

  • PROSPECTS provides residential supported living and domiciliary support services in locations in different parts of England, Wales and Northern Ireland; all are community based and many draw support from local churches.
  • PROSPECTS also provides day opportunities with work activities including craft, horticulture and printing and facilitates opportunities for part-time and full-time work where possible.
  • PROSPECTS enables and equips Christians and churches to respond positively to people with learning disabilities in their own community by the support of Causeway PROSPECTS.
  • International PROSPECTS has clear aims:
    • To provide training, advice and encouragement to Christian nationals working with people with learning disabilities.
    • To partner individuals, churches and Christian organisations to identify, plan and develop projects for people with learning disabilities in other countries.

PS - Health and Poverty

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.

See also MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY North East for details and links to campaigns against poverty.
