The National Association for Bikers with a Disability (NABD) is a registered charity set up by a small group of people who believed that a disability should not take away the enjoyment of motorcycling. The NABD now has hundreds of members in the UK and Eire with over 150 affiliated clubs, groups and companies. The NABD offers diverse services including the following.

  • Financial grants to help with the cost of special adaption work to bikes and trikes.
  • Assessments and training to regain licence from the DVLA or for disabled people who want to take up motorcycling.
  • Motorcycle and trike insurance - some companies offer discounts to NABD members.
  • Increasing awareness among organisers of motorcycle events.
  • Information on specialist engineers offering adaption work to motorcycles.
  • Events including rallies, concerts and fundraising.
  • Representatives throughout the UK holding regular meetings.
  • Quarterly magazine for members.
  • Campaigning for motorcycles and trikes to be included in the Motability scheme.

An annual fee is charged for membership. The NABD is run by volunteers and relies on fundraising and donations for its income.
