The Health Service Ombudsman investigates complaints about the National Health Service. Complaints should first be taken up locally with the local hospital, clinic or surgery. If the complaint is not dealt with satisfactorily locally then the complaint can be made to the Ombudsman. The Ombudsman is completely independent of the NHS and the Government. There is no charge for the Ombudsman's service.
