The Health Scotland Library Service is a free, national information resource for health promotion and consumer health information. The library service is open to the public, health professionals and anyone involved in health education work in Scotland. The library service provides access to the following:

  • Scotland's most comprehensive and accessible collection of books and journals on health promotion.
  • Literature searches on a growing range of health-related topics.
  • A reliable enquiry service offering advice, assistance and information about self-help groups, voluntary organisations, consumer health and more.
  • A catalogue of over 80,000 journal articles and books held in the library. The catalogue is available via the website above.
  • Bi-monthly bulletins listing the latest titles in health promotion and health education.
  • A photocopying service of library materials.
  • An extensive collection of databases including ASSIA, CINAHL, MEDLINE.
  • Borrowing up to six books for four weeks, by post if required.
