AbilityNet is a national charity and a provider of advice on computing and disability. Every year they help thousands of people with a wide range of disabling or limiting conditions, to access and release the enabling power of computer technology, so enhancing their lives and enabling them to take their rightful part in education, employment and leisure activities.
Their help includes people who experience difficulties while working on a computer workstation in their day-to-day lives. AbilityNet's wide ranging experience enables them to offer a complete package of services and advice, to individuals, education and businesses.
Through its national offices and regional partners AbilityNet provides a freephone advice and information line, individual assessments, awareness training and courses for professionals. Their website provides information and advice including over 80 factsheets which give information on a wide range of assistive technology, services and organisations that can help you get the most out of IT.
AbilityNet's independent, non-profit status enables them to evaluate and compare all available alternatives without bias. Their approach is practical and pragmatic, judging the value of an idea by its real suitability rather than its technical sophistication.
