Cohen syndrome is a rare genetic disorder caused by a recessive gene. Children with Cohen syndrome have learning difficulties and a characteristic appearance. Features of the syndrome are not all well defined which makes diagnosis difficult.

The Cohen Syndrome Support Group is a voluntary organisation which provides the following:

  • Information on the syndrome.
  • Leaflet (available on receipt of a stamped addressed envelope) and a booklet for a small charge (contact the Group for details).
  • Parent-to-parent support.
  • A quarterly newsletter.

PS - Health and Poverty

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.

See also MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY North East for details and links to campaigns against poverty.
