About one in a thousand children suffer from juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) which can strike at any age and take one of several forms. The CCCA is run by both parents and professionals and is open to all who are concerned with the welfare of children with arthritis. It is a registered charity and provides the following.
- A support network for children with arthritis and their families.
- Practical help and support through their network and Area Family Contacts.
- Educational and recreational opportunities for arthritic children and their families.
The Area Family Contacts, as parents of arthritic children themselves, fully understand and appreciate the day-to-day living with JIA and by support and encouragement hope to help overcome the feelings of isolation, loneliness, and frustration which can affect the whole family. Contact the above address for membership details. Membership is free but donations are welcome.
