Cerebra aims to help decrease the incidence of brain injury in babies and develop and test effective therapies. They support, commission and carry out research to these ends including the award of grants and fellowships.

They provide information to families and professionals working in the brain injury field. They offer a postal lending library of books and audio-visual aids as well as sensory items and toys. They offer a grants scheme to help children in a practical way, a number of publications including a guide to completing the DLA documents for children under 16 and a book "Managing Stress for Carers". They also produce a quarterly newsletter and do all they can to help improve the lives of children.
