The British Home is a long-established, registered, independent charity in Streatham, south London that provides specialised nursing and social care for people with long term medical conditions and severe disabilities. The British Home accommodates up to 122 adults of all ages and diverse backgrounds.

People come to The British Home at a time of crisis in their lives and The British Home's role is stabilise their health, enable them to live with dignity and independence, and provide opportunities for pleasure and enjoyment so they can live their lives to the full.

The British Home has large airy rooms, wide corridors and spacious communal areas. Arranged on three floors, each with dining rooms and living areas, nearly all the residents live in single rooms and many have en-suite facilities. A full programme of leisure and social activities is available to all. It even has an art room and art teacher to encourage creativity and self-expression. There is a concert hall, a large recreation area, computer suite, a beautiful and peaceful chapel and an extensive garden. The well-equipped physiotherapy department ensures everyone has the opportunity to keep as mobile as possible.
