The British Home aims to provide nursing care and support in purpose-built accommodation for people who are chronically sick and disabled. Their aim is to assist each resident to achieve the maximum possible independence and enjoyment of life by providing the highest standard of nursing care together with clinical and recreational support.

Every resident has been diagnosed as having an incurable condition, such as multiple sclerosis, stroke, Parkinson's disease, cerebral palsy, cancer or disability following an accident. The home is a charitable nursing home and not part of the NHS, therefore fees are charged which may be met by health authorities or social services
