Mission statement: "to promote, provide and deliver high standards of inclusive, short and medium term services for disabled people, visually impaired people, and carers. Vitalise recognises the value and importance of involving volunteers."

Vitalise has been providing short breaks for disabled people and carers at accessible Centres in the UK since 1963. They believe that disabled people should have the same rights, freedoms, responsibilities and quality of life as those without disabilities.

Their centres cater for adults with a variety of physical disabilities and, at Vitalise Churchtown in Cornwall, for adults and children with sensory, learning and physical disabilities. They aim to provide an alternative to traditional residential respite care. Each Centre offers short breaks in a relaxed, holiday style environment with a variety of trips and activities. Guests on the breaks are supported by volunteers who provide companionship and assistance.

Community based support services are now an expanding part of their services. Their Vitalise New Horizons Centre in Derby, provides day services for adults with physical disabilities. The day service at Vitalise Churchtown is suitable for adults with learning and physical disabilities.
