The PHAB aim is to promote and encourage people with and without physical disabilities to come together on equal terms, to achieve complete integration within the wider community.

  • Was formed in 1957. By 1970 there were 23 clubs. Now there are over 250.
  • Is the only charity promoting integration between physically disabled and able bodied people.
  • Finances a programme aimed at changing attitudes at the earliest possible age.
  • Promotes the sharing on equal terms of activities between the able-bodied and the disabled.
  • Breaks down divisive barriers, embarrassment and prejudice.
  • Offers and arranges holidays, including opportunities to disabled and able bodied to abseil, horseride, go pot holing, climb mountains, and follow many other pursuits.
  • Constantly campaigns to improve the quality of life by seeking better disabled access to public transport, shops, cinemas, theatres, concert halls, galleries, and studios.

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.
