Hearing Concern aims to help those with a hearing impairment in the following ways.
- Advising - on both technical and social matters.
- Informing - through the quarterly Hearing Concern Magazine.
- Training - volunteers for in-home support which is a nationwide network of trained volunteer advisers who assist with day to day problems.
- Campaigning - for better access, greater awareness and research and promoting the use of lipspeakers and lip-reading.
- Supporting - through membership and local Support groups.
- Loop Systems.
- Mobile Telephones.
- Changing your Telephone.
- Environmental Aids.
- How the ear works.
- Menieres Disease.
- Tinnitus.
- Presbycusis (age related deafness).
- Usher's Syndrome.
- Further education - A guide for deaf and hard of hearing.
- Employment advice for deaf and hard of hearing people and employers.
- Lipreading - an aid to communication.
- How to help a hearig impaired person understand you.
