Rethink is a national voluntary organisation that helps people with a severe mental illness, their families and carers. It campaigns for better services for the mentally ill and for greater understanding of the problems caused by severe mental illness, particularly schizophrenia and related conditions.
Rethink has approximately 8,000 members and over 150 relative/sufferer support groups around the country. The head office is in London. Rethink runs over 350 community care projects across the UK ranging from supported accommodation schemes to employment training courses and day-care centres. It also carries out research, organises training courses/conferences and provides free, independent advice through its national advice service.
Rethink produces a range of publications, which are either free or available for a small cost, along with a quarterly magazine, Your Voice.
