Best time to phone helpline: 7pm - 10pm, 7 days a week; some mornings and afternoons.
Endometriosis UK was started in 1981. In addition to promoting research into endometriosis, and awareness of it among medical professionals and the public, the charity also provides the following.
- A national helpline available 365 days a year (number above).
- Local groups nationwide.
- A quarterly newsletter for members.
- Conferences and workshops.
- A comprehensive range of publications, including factsheets on treatments.
The helpline is staffed by trained volunteers, all of whom have endometriosis and understand the effects of the disease from personal experience. This is also open for partners and families. There is a referral network so individuals can talk to someone about particular treatment she has experienced. Contact the number above for further details including how to join.
The authors and editors of this article are employed to create accurate and up to date content reflecting reliable research evidence, guidance and best clinical practice. They are free from any commercial conflicts of interest. Find out more about updating.
