The relief and ultimate cure of permanent head noise are the aims of the British Tinnitus Association. As the only national charity exclusively devoted to the subject, it supports local self-help groups as well as assisting research and seeking greater public recognition of the condition.

Its quarterly journal, Quiet, gives advice on the relief of tinnitus and publicizes clinical and scientific research.

The Association is run by a staff of six with the benefit of expert medical advice. The BTA relies on the financial donations of members and supporters to maintain its activities. It also plays a leading part in the international exchange of information between tinnitus associations in many countries.

PS - Health and Poverty

Perhaps the biggest cause of ill health in the world is poverty. Help to Make Poverty History. For example, why not lend some of your money to disadvantaged communities to enable them to trade their way out of poverty through schemes such as Shared Interest.

See also MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY North East for details and links to campaigns against poverty.
